Kat Dicken, LSW
Clinician
I'm Kat (any pronouns) and I was drawn to the prospect of social work and case management as a career through being a first-hand witness of injustice at the public defender's office in Maricopa County, Arizona. The motivation to enter the social justice field to battle oppressive systems was ingrained through lived experience; I always knew it would be a part of my own path. Ultimately, it was through my Master of Social Work program where I found my passion for clinical work. I have lived experience as a neurodivergent person with OCD, as a part of the queer community, and have sat on the other end of the therapist's chair.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University and my Master of Social Work with a concentration in Advanced Social Work Practice through the University of Denver. As I continuously develop my therapeutic approach, I prefer to take a strengths-based perspective and prioritize the self-determination of all clients, while using an integrated praxis to best meet the needs of each individual. However, I love to integrate my own interests and passions into my work, becoming a Certified Therapeutic Game Master to use Table-Top Role-Playing games to deliver interventions.
I love language learning (少し日本語ができる), playing videogames, refining my skills as a Dungeon Master in D&D, and weightlifting. I also love spending time with my dog and cat. If I'm around, you can bet my dog is also nearby! I look forward to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker forming an alliance with my clients to accompany them on their therapeutic journeys.

Clinician
Myla (She/Her/Hers) is a Masters Level Social Worker who specializes in working with adolescents and older children. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maine with a Masters in Social Work.
Myla was brought to social work from education; as she was drawn to the more clinical aspects of social work. During her time as an undergraduate social work student at the University of Maine, Myla worked as a Victim Advocate for survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. These experiences gave her a passion for providing non-judgmental, strength-based, and individualized care. Which eventually led her to pursue clinical social work and mental health care.
Myla also worked in youth development for three years at a non-profit in her home town called “Trekkers.” Trekkers believes in empowering the inherent strengths of young people in the community via mentorship, experiential education, and intentional youth development. She mentored students directly while on expeditions and provided experiential education, assisted with logistical planning of expeditions, and worked to support the development team to secure funding for this meaningful program. These experiences were instrumental in Myla finding her therapeutic style and developed her passion for working with youth and teens.
During her time as a clinical social work intern at Stillwater Counseling (a private practice located in Maine) she supported teenagers with anxiety, depression, PTSD/Trauma related disorders, as well as gender and sexuality identity-based work. Her strengths in practice include working with adolescents and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Myla employs an individualized approach to therapy based in Person Centered Theory, and Trauma-Informed CBT. However, Myla believes in applying a holistic approach utilizing many modalities to best meet the needs of her clients. She also believes in integrating the outdoors and experiential model into her work whenever possible. Non-judgement and de-centering societal definitions of mental health are the heart of her work. And she works to meet every client where they are.
In her off time, you can find her reading a good book, on a hike, or on her paddle board. Myla has two cats (Crouton and Joe-Cool) and spends the rest of her free time spoiling them whenever possible
