    Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

OCD & Anxiety Colorado’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a specialized, evidence-based Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents and young adults struggling with OCD and anxiety disorders. Our neurodivergent-affirming, family-centered approach includes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), family therapy, SPACE-based parent support, and wraparound services such as medication management, occupational therapy, and academic coaching. Adolescent IOP runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:00 to 3 PM, with individualized care coordinated around each family’s needs. Our Young Adult IOP is Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. With small group sizes, collaborative treatment planning, and a strong emphasis on aftercare, our IOP empowers young people and their families to build sustainable, long-term recovery.

    Individual Therapy

We offer 55-minute individual therapy sessions at $200 tailored to adolescents and young adults navigating OCD and related disorders, including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), trichotillomania (hair pulling), and excoriation disorder (skin picking). Each session includes targeted, evidence-based support—like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—as well as regular check-ins to review progress, update goals, and address any challenges that arise along the way.

    Family Therapy & Parent Coaching

Provided by Alie Bernard Garza, LCSW and using the evidence-based SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) approach, our 55-minute sessions support parents of adolescents and young adults with OCD and related disorders. Sessions may include parents alone or together with their child, depending on treatment needs. We focus on treatment goals, progress updates, and practical strategies for reducing family accommodation and supporting your child’s progress at home—all within a compassionate, collaborative framework.

    Outpatient Groups

Our 55-minute to 120-minute outpatient group sessions provide targeted support for teens, parents, and other specific populations navigating OCD and related disorders. Groups offer a structured, supportive environment to build skills, share experiences, and reduce isolation. Each group is designed around the unique needs of its members—whether that’s teens working on exposure goals, parents learning to reduce accommodation, or others seeking community and tools for change.

    Education/Academic Support

Our 55-minute sessions with our education specialist, Scott Prosser, provide personalized academic support and executive function coaching for adolescents and young adults. Designed for both neurotypical and neurodivergent learners—including twice-exceptional, gifted, highly sensitive students, and those navigating mild autism, ADHD, or test anxiety—these sessions combine a strong academic foundation with a holistic, student-centered approach. Support goes beyond traditional tutoring, offering a blend of subject-specific guidance, emotional insight, and practical strategies for organization, time management, and motivation—helping students thrive both in and out of the classroom.

    Occupational Therapy

Certified with the STAR Institute Proficiency Certificate (Level 1) and extensively trained in sensory integration techniques, she focuses on caregiver coaching, relational strategies, and supporting social-emotional development. Sessions are personalized to help clients better understand and regulate their sensory experiences, build meaningful connections, and develop the skills needed to thrive in daily life.

Insurance Advocacy & Billing Information

At OCD & Anxiety Colorado (OAC), we are an out-of-network (OON) provider, and all services are cash-pay/out-of-pocket (OOP). Families pay OAC directly for services, and we offer several forms of insurance support to help you pursue possible reimbursement through your OON benefits.

OAC also offers 30-minute financial consultations to help families review insurance options, understand coverage, and determine the most cost-effective path forward.

How OAC Supports Families With Out-of-Network Insurance

1. Superbills for Families to Seek Reimbursement

OAC provides detailed superbills that you can submit directly to your insurance company. Your insurer will determine whether services qualify for reimbursement under your OON benefits.

2. OAC Can Submit OON Claims to Insurance on Your Behalf

If you prefer, OAC can submit claims directly to your insurance using your out-of-network coverage.

  • Any reimbursement issued by your insurer will typically be sent to you, the policyholder.

  • If your insurer pays OAC directly, the reimbursement amount will be issued to you (the policyholder) according to your EOB.

3. In-Network Exception (Gap Exception / In-For-Out Request)

When appropriate, OAC can request that your insurer treat our services as in-network when no comparable, accessible in-network programs are available.

If your insurer approves this request:

  • OAC will submit claims for the services you have already paid for.

  • Families are typically reimbursed at the in-network benefit rate, which is often higher than OON reimbursement.

  • If your insurer pays OAC directly, the reimbursement amount will be issued to you (the policyholder) according to your EOB.

Financial Consultation:

OAC offers 30-minute financial consults to review:

  • Your insurance plan’s OON benefits

  • Deductible and coinsurance details

  • Estimated reimbursement ranges

  • Whether an in-network exception request may be appropriate

These consultations help families understand their options and make informed financial decisions about care.

Important Notes About Insurance & Reimbursement

  • OAC cannot guarantee insurance approval, payment, or reimbursement. All decisions—including coverage level, reimbursement amount, and eligibility—are determined solely by your insurance company.

  • Families remain financially responsible for all charges regardless of insurance outcomes.

  • Reimbursement amounts depend on your plan’s specific terms, including deductible status, coinsurance, and coverage limits.

  • Retroactive reimbursement is not guaranteed unless specifically outlined in your insurer’s in-network exception approval.
