Founder
Alie Bernard Garza, LCSW (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with deep experience treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and related challenges in adolescents, young adults, and families. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington and has worked across all levels of care—including outpatient therapy, IOP, PHP, residential treatment, and community-based services.
Alie has held clinical and program development roles at the Portland Anxiety Clinic, the OCD Institute Texas (formerly McLean OCD Institute Houston), and the University of Colorado Anschutz’s OCD Clinic. She is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based model for childhood and adolescent anxiety. She also brings strong experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention, supporting families through acute distress and major care transitions with a collaborative, steady presence.
As an Advocate with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), Alie works to expand access to evidence-based treatment, reduce stigma—especially around taboo and misunderstood OCD themes—and support clinician education nationwide.
Her work is grounded not only in clinical expertise but also in lived experience. After over 15 years misdiagnosed and untreated for OCD, she is committed to ensuring others receive timely, compassionate care. Raised in Boulder County, Colorado, Alie brings local insight, national expertise, and a elational, person-centered approach to her work. Her mission is rooted in clarity, connection, and hope—helping families reclaim their lives from OCD and anxiety through evidence-based support and genuine partnership.
