    Alie Garza, LCSW

    Founder

Alie Bernard Garza, LCSW (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, and related challenges in adolescents, young adults and families. Alie earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle and has worked across the full continuum of mental health care—including outpatient therapy, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), residential treatment, and community-based services. She has held clinical and program development roles at institutes, including the Portland Anxiety Clinic, the OCD Institute Texas (formerly the McLean OCD Institute Houston), and the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine’s OCD Clinic.

She has extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard treatment for OCD—as well as SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based treatment model for childhood anxiety and OCD. In addition to her expertise in OCD and anxiety treatment, Alie brings substantial experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention. She has guided countless families through moments of acute distress, hospitalization, and major transitions in care—always with a calm, clear, and collaborative presence.

Alie is a dedicated Advocate with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), where she works to expand access to effective treatment, reduce stigma (particularly around taboo and misunderstood OCD themes), and support clinician education nationwide. Her work is informed not only by clinical expertise but also by lived experience: she spent over 15 years misdiagnosed and untreated for OCD, an experience that now fuels her commitment to ensuring others don’t face the same path without understanding, support, and access to care.

Raised in Boulder County, Colorado, Alie brings local insight, national-level expertise, and a relational, person-centered approach to every aspect of her work. Her mission is grounded in clarity, connection, and hope—and in helping families reclaim their lives from the grip of OCD and anxiety with evidence-based support and genuine partnership.

    Kat Dicken, LSW

    Clinician

I'm Kat (any pronouns) and I was drawn to the prospect of social work and case management as a career through being a first-hand witness of injustice at the public defender's office in Maricopa County, Arizona. The motivation to enter the social justice field to battle oppressive systems was ingrained through lived experience; I always knew it would be a part of my own path. Ultimately, it was through my Master of Social Work program where I found my passion for clinical work. I have lived experience as a neurodivergent person with OCD, as a part of the queer community, and have sat on the other end of the therapist's chair.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University and my Master of Social Work with a concentration in Advanced Social Work Practice through the University of Denver. As I continuously develop my therapeutic approach, I prefer to take a strengths-based perspective and prioritize the self-determination of all clients, while using an integrated praxis to best meet the needs of each individual. However, I love to integrate my own interests and passions into my work, becoming a Certified Therapeutic Game Master to use Table-Top Role-Playing games to deliver interventions.

I love language learning (少し日本語ができる), playing videogames, refining my skills as a Dungeon Master in D&D, and weightlifting. I also love spending time with my dog and cat. If I'm around, you can bet my dog is also nearby! I look forward to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker forming an alliance with my clients to accompany them on their therapeutic journeys.
